Socialfix joined community leaders and friends for the 3rd annual Women’s Tea fundraising event hosted by The State Theatre of New Jersey. This year’s program featured a networking reception, followed by high tea and performance from Pianist Min Kwon, who was accompanied by her student, Enriqueta Somarriba. After the performance we sat down with Min and Enriqueta to discuss the important role that the arts have played in their lives, with perspectives ranging from being a student, educator and performer. Proceeds from the event benefit underserved individuals each year – including students from low-income schools, veterans, seniors and others.
This year marks Socialfix’s 2nd year in attendance as media sponsors for the event, where we captured interviews with committee members and attendees to hear their take on why its important to support the arts and work with other women business leaders to promote fundraising events to benefit the community. During the performance from Pianist Min Kwon, we captured her performances and discussion about the importance and influence the arts has on fostering strong communities.
This year the event raised more than $40,000 to support the community arts access initiatives and we are working on a promotional video to encourage more community leaders to get involved next year.
