Winning a business award (e.g. Inc. 5000, Entrepreneur of the Year) is a great honor and can communicate a lot about your business. What’s one way a winner can leverage this award to boost their personal or business brand?
Table of Contents
1. Create a Video About It
Winning awards creates a nice opportunity to reflect on what is working. Don’t be shy about showing off an award, but remember that it’s about giving people a chance to learn more about what specifically sets your business apart. Consider putting together a video that celebrates not only the award, but also how you earned this particular achievement. – Ryan D Matzner, Fueled
2. Display It on Your Author Bio
Winning awards can help you establish credibility. So if you get one, make sure you display it on your social profiles and add it to your portfolio and your author bio if you have one. It’s a great way of building trust among your users, boosting your sales and increasing your profits. – Thomas Griffin, OptinMonster
3. Post About It on Social Media
The best way to leverage the award to boost your personal or business brand is to share about it on social media. It’s a great way of letting a wide audience know about it super quickly. You can also add it to your business or personal website for your clients and potential customers to see. It can make a huge impact on them and influence their buying decisions too. – Josh Kohlbach, Wholesale Suite
4. Add the Title to Your LinkedIn Name
Wear it like the badge of honor it is. There’s no shame in parading around the achievement. You’ve earned it, after all. Putting “Company X Entrepreneur of the Year” in your LinkedIn name, for example, is a great way to build credibility in your industry. Basically, make noise about it on your professional social media pages. That’s what they’re there for! – Amine Rahal, IronMonk Solutions
5. Start a Conversation About It
Use it as an ice breaker. If you win an impressive award, it gives you a level of clout when you blindly reach out to people you want to connect with. It helps validate that you know what you are doing and that they could benefit from starting a relationship with you. – Zach Binder, Bell + Ivy
6. Curate a Showreel
I personally love putting together a showreel or video wrap-up of all awards we have received as a company or as individuals to showcase the strength and peer recognition Socialfix brings to client projects. This showreel can live on your website, email signature, social channels, newsletters and just about anywhere you can publish video content. And it doesn’t hurt that it’s evergreen and impressive. – Terry Tateossian, Socialfix Media
7. Network With Other Winners and Nominees
I think that you can use this as an opportunity to network with other people. When there’s a buzz created by an industry award ceremony, it gives you greater visibility. You can reach out to the other winners or reply to comments in social media posts around this event. In this way, you can leverage the conversation around the award to grow your network. – Blair Williams, MemberPress
8. Put a Badge on Your Website and Marketing Assets
Get that award badge on your website and social media accounts and use it in other marketing campaign materials. It can be used through PR to raise awareness of the work you do for your customers. It can be used to remind your team members that their work is important and has been recognized by an external body. It can even be a magnet for top talent if your company is known for that award. – Samuel Thimothy, OneIMS
9. Add It to Your Social Media Profiles
You can take advantage of your business awards by placing the recognition on your social media profiles. Social media is a quick and easy way to build your brand and a following. Including this type of social proof on your social profiles will help you grow your audience and drive traffic back to your website because it boosts your credibility. – Stephanie Wells, Formidable Forms
